Name of God the Merciful, brother (.......)I want to tell you today about Forts and Castles
Forts and Castles
Forts and Castles are Oman's most striking cultural landmarks and, together with its towers and city walls, they have historically been used as defensive bastions or look-out points. . There are over 500 forts, castles and towers in Oman which has a coastline of 1,700 kms, so they were needed to protect it from potential invaders. The architectural styles vary, being determined by the architects who built them or the periods in which they were built.
القلاع والحصون
القلاع والحصون في عمان هي الأكثر لفتا للمعالم الثقافيه ، جنبا الى جنب مع ابراجه والجدران في المدينة ، فقد استخدمت تاريخيا كما معاقل دفاعية او نظرة شاملة . وهناك اكثر من 500 من الحصون ، والقلاع والأبراج في عمان التي يبلغ طول سواحلها 1700 كيلو متر ، حتى انهم كانوا بحاجة الى حمايتها من الغزاه المحتملين. تختلف الاساليب المعماريه ، ويحدد مهندسو البناء الذي شيد لهم أو في الفترات التي بنيت تاريخها.
There are many Forts in Oman like:Jalali and Mirani fort which was built before the arrival of the Portuguese
هنالك العديد من القلاع في عمان مثل قلعة الجلالي والميراني اللتي بنيت قبل وصول البرتغاليين.
This is Jalali and Mirani Fort
Another fort which is oldest one in Oman is Rustaq For. It is located in Al Batinah ,originally known as Qalat Al Kisra
قلعة اخرى وهي من اقدم القلاع في عمان هي قلعة الرستاق ، تقع في الباطنة ، تشتهر او معروفة بقلعة الكسرى
This is Rustaq Fort
The main feature is its 7-mile long walls which were patrolled by sentries night and day it is Bahla Fort
السمة الرئيسية هي 7 - ميل، طويلة الجدران التي كانت دوريات
من جانب الحراس ليلا ونهارا، هي قلعة بهلا.

Built by Imam Sultan bin Saif al Ya'arubi in 1668, is the biggest fort in the Arabian Peninsula it is located in Al Dakhliyah . It is Nizwa Fort
بنيت على يد الامام سلطان بن سيف اليعربي عام 1668 ، هي اكبر قلعه في الجزيرة العربية ، تقع في الداخلية ، هي قلعة نزوى.

Jabrin Fort was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya'arubi in 1970
قلعة جبرين بنيت على يد الامام سلطان بن سيف اليعربي عام 1970
This is Jabrin Fort
Also there is Sohar Fort and Nakhl Fort
ايضا هنالك قلعة صحار وقلعة نخل
In addition, there are many castles like: Al Hazm Castle
which Located in Al Hazm town in Welayat Rustaq
بالاضافه هنالك العديد من الحصون مثل حصن الحزم اللذي يقع في الحزم في ولاية الرستاق.
This is Al Hazem Castle
Also Khassab Castle which is located opposite to the seacoast in Welayat Khasab in the north of Oman
ايضا حصن خصب اللذي يقع في الجهه المعاكسة للبحر في ولاية خصب في شمال عمان.
This is Khassab Castle
Al Khandaq Castle which is located in Hamasa town in Welayat Buraimi. It was called ( Al Khandaq ) because of
the ditch surrounding it
حصن الخندق ، يقع في حماسه في ولاية البريمي ويسمى الخندق بسبب الخندق المحيط به.
This is Al Khandaq Castle
Also there are many Castles in Oman such as Al Mintrib Castle and Mirbat Castle
ايضا هنالك العديد من الحصون مثل حصن المنترب وحصن مرباط.
